     Talk with some individual students:

T: What would you like to do/ What do you want to do this evening/ weekend?

     S1: I’d like to…/I want to….

     T: So, are you…this evening/ weekend?

T: That means you want to…, but you can’t. You have to do your homework/read English. Say: I have to do my homework./I have to read English.

     S1: I have to ….

On the screen, show sentences like:

I want to play basketball this afternoon. But I can’t. I have to do my homework.

I’d like to watch TV this evening. But I can’t. I have to study.

Let students read after the teacher loudly several times. Explain “ have to”.

     Step II Presentation

      Play a “birthday party” flash.

Say: You know? Today is my birthday. I am having a birthday party in my house. Would you like to come to my party?

Then go around the class and invite some students who are going to be free or study, help them answer.

T: Hi, Linda! Can you come to my party tonight?

     S1: Sure, I’d love to.

T: Mike! Can you come to my birthday party?

On the screen show the task. Our school is having Art Festival next Wednesday. Invite your friends and your parents to come. Get students to work in groups of four. Have some students give a report using the target language: My friend Bill can come to the Art Festival. But my dad can’t. He is going to Beijing….

     Step VII Sum up

Ask them to talk about what they have learned today.

     Step VIII Homework

If you are having a birthday party, invite your friends to your party using the English you’ve learned.

询问学生想做什么would you like to watch NBA?和是否打算做Are you watching NBA ?引入have to /has to,(No, I have to go to school.)
